Before driving into work, I start my day with yoga and an hour of exercise so that I will have the energy I will need to push myself to produce the top notch, up-to-the-minute research analysis that our market analysts demand.

As the Head of Commodities, I oversee a team of talented researchers located throughout Futures First offices across in the globe, so I’m constantly checking my smart phone for updates and reports that come in at all hours of the day. When I arrive at my office the Asian markets have already been open for 5 hours and I have to quickly catch up with my researchers in Beijing and Shanghai, and then make sure I’m up on all the overnight data that came in from the U.S.

The most challenging part of my job is that today's markets are all the more dynamic and the reasons and the sentiments that drive the markets change in an instant. This isn’t a routine job, and I’ve never had a day where I stare at my watch counting down the hours to clock-out time.

At the end of a long day of market ups and downs, I unwind at home with a comedy show or sitcom – checking on the latest headlines every few minutes – and rejuvenate so that I can do it all again tomorrow.
