Service-Now Developer (Position #2002)

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Service Now Developer to join our Application Development team in Gurgaon, India. The right candidate will have hands-on experience envisioning and building custom features and functionality on the Service Now platform. He/she will be able to see the big picture, think strategically, and design technical solutions to real business problems.

Futures First is expanding its use of Service Now within our environment, and leveraging it to create efficiencies across our organization. This will require integration between Service Now and our other systems, with data flowing to and from Service Now in a seamless manner. We are looking for the right person with hands on experience in Service Now integrations. This person will also work on customized functionality within Service Now itself, in the form of complex scripts.

The Service Now development team is a business facing team, working directly with management at the most senior level. The right candidate will demonstrate experience far beyond the basic Service Now administrative tasks. Knowledge of how to build workflows and Catalog Items, Business Rules, and simple scripts is required. But it’s what you can do beyond the basics which both excites you and makes you the perfect fit for this role.

Job Profile

  • Provide expertise on all technical questions related to development on of Snow
  • Responsible for technical specification to satisfy user stories and business requirements. Develop the and implement the technical solution and perform the component integration tests
  • Understand the business needs and the needs to standardize processes, and build this into the design
  • Understand the “big picture” thinking and approach needed for success of the project
  • Expert understanding of ServiceNow required
  • Expert level programming skills required
  • Expertise in JavaScript is required
  • Experience with REST, SOAP, and SQL is preferred
  • Experience building integrations between Service Now and other systems, using mid-server or REST/SOAP

Requirements

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology/Engineering in computer science/Information Technology

Work Experience

  • 3+ years experience in Service Now Administration
  • 3+ years experience in Service Now development, especially scripting in Service Now

Skill Set

  • Fluency in English
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving, and ability to work under pressure
  • System integration experience using web services and other web based technologies such as XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking including TCP/IP ports and firewalls, network protocols, and IP networks
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills, ability to present solutions and “make a case” to stakeholders and other team members
  • Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow ITSM modules - Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management or other ITSM application.
  • Experience with extending the ServiceNow schema to custom applications
  • Exposure to ServiceNow platform capabilities and tools like Discovery and Orchestration and other applications like ServiceWatch, GRC etc.
  • Understands technical and functional design requirements related to ServiceNow . • •
  • Create and manage scripts and workflows
  • A fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL or CMDB
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs - all scripted aspects of the ServiceNow system
  • Experience in one (or more) scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell
  • Experience with ServiceNow client and server-side Javascript and the ServiceNow APIs
  • Scripted Web-Services, AJAX, Business Rules, JavaScript, SOAP, REST SSO-SAML Setup and Integration of ServiceNow to Other Applications
  • Customizing ServiceNow using UI Pages, UI Macro & CMS using CSS, HTML, Jelly
  • Custom UI Changes with usage of Web Technologies such as DOM, HTML changes
